Endless Gratitude to Crosscurrents International Institute

Back in 2006, when SSMR needed an overseeing NGO, Bill and Marina Shaw of Crosscurrents International Institute volunteered their services. Little did they know how much of their lives would be wrapped up with people in a country they never got to visit. Little did we anticipate the value of their meticulous record keeping, and the ways that their international experience and “citizen diplomacy” would help shape SSMR. Aside from Jill and Sjoukje, they have put in more hours than any other volunteer.

Nineteen years later, they are ready to pass the torch. We thank them, and thank them, and thank them again.

African Mission Healthcare (AMH) has supported SSMR for many years. Their work across many projects in Africa makes them fully aware of the challenges we face.   AMH’s medical director, Dr. Jon Fielder, provides incredible medical expertise.  We share commitment. AMH has offered to expand their role, manage our finances, and help carry on the mission of SSMR.
